Just arrived in Charlotte this week - moved from the Pacific Northwest. My fiance's job relocated to Ft. Mill, SC.
I'm looking to start a book club to meet some great new people. I would love to host monthly meetings at my place (I live near the Mint Museum of Art....I think the neighborhood is called Eastover?).
Please shoot me an e-mail (jleiden@gmail.com) if you're interested!
I just moved to Charlotte two weeks ago and am looking for a bookclub. I saw your posting from last May and assume you've probably gotten something up and running by now. I was wondering if you'd let me know what you've found as I have always loved being part of a bookclub and am anxious to find a "new home".
I am new to Charlotte myself and been looking for a book club as well. I live in the Ballantyne area not sure if this is close to Eastover or not. I went to the library and they have monthly book club meetings, they have the books list posted ahead of time so you know which book to read for the next 4 or 5 months. I didn't attend any of these meetings yet since I have been busy with other things. Here is the website if you want to check it out The Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County
There is also a new group I found for people new to the Charlotte area called New to Charlotte. You can check it out at New to Charlotte (Charlotte, NC) - Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/newtocharlotte/ - broken link)

Anyways, have you checked meetup website? There are a bunch of book clubs already, I'm pretty sure there's one for spiritual reading.
