We have been to the Sears Outlet at Eastland mall.

I have to tell you, the sales people were NOT very friendly! They didn't put prices on things and you had to ask for each item and they had to go look it up.

9 times out of 10, we were able to get a better deal at the actual Sears store on sale!!!!

We tried to explain this to the manager at the Eastland mall, but they just shrugged and literally walked away from us!

I sure hope this Sears outlet is nicer!

But, I just really wanted to warn people to check the retail store and sales first because you may not get a great deal at the scratch and dent store.

Dawn

Well, I just (a week ago) bought a fridge in the Sears outlet at Eastland Mall. (yes, I took my life in my hands to save $400.00 ) But, overall, I found what I wanted quickly, had no issues with the sales person and although there was a small bump in the delivery date, that was immediately resolved to my satisfaction. No issues. The delivery guys told me the fridge was in the outlet part because the power cord had been damaged somehow and they had to replace it. I looked online and yes, I saved more than $400.00 over the same model fridge that was "new".

I had not shopped at Sears for more than 20 years due to another issue with them, but, was very pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. If I need another appliance, I surely will check with them first.

Was there last weekend just to browse through. Never been to another similar outlet before, so cant compare. They had fridge, dishwashers, stoves, ovens, microwaves, mattress, washers and dryers. Collection was not huge i can say, they had about 2 or 3 models of the type we liked for fridges. Not much for dishwashers. I think they are just starting and are slowly stocking up. The sale said like 40% - 50% off their retail prices.

Thanks for the info, Dawn, CHICubs, and akpreets!!! This new outlet would be very convenient for me.

Did anyone notice if they had stainless grills? I should have checked the sales a few weeks ago. We use only charcoal so have a Weber, but DH just said he would like to find a nice gas grill. I am gonna have to scramble to see if I can find a good one while they are on end of season sale.

Hi Ani,

I was there for the Grand Opening last weekend. To me, they had a lot including stainless grills. I thought they had a good selection, but i guess that all depends on what you're looking for. I plan to go back and buy a refrigerator and mattress. I can save about $200-$300 on a refrigerator, and as much as $500 or more for a King mattress. I definitely plan to buy these two items from there. I also need an overhead microwave, but the prices weren't all that great. I will definitely ask a lot of questions before i buy to make sure the items aren't recovering from sort of horrible refurbished state. FYI...the mattresses are not used. It's illegal to seel used mattresses. :-) Also, they're merchandise comes with a 1 yr factory warranty. I would go check it out if i were you. They get shipments every Tues, Wed & Thurs.
