My wife and I are looking for a place to settle down in the US. We are both first generation immigrants to the US, I have been here for about 16 years and she has been here for about 6. I am in financial services she is in medicine. We are currently in the DC area. We are tired of the 1+ hour commutes, high cost of living, and the cold weather. Despite making a 6 high figure salary, we are unable to put away much. We were both raised in tropical climates, I can deal with the mild NE winters more so than she can and neither of us likes very hot weather (i.e. 100 + degrees) or more cold weather than where we are. We love the outdoors, would like to be able to go to the beach at least a fewtimes a year and have similar allergies (mold, dustmites, grass, oak, ragweed).

Where would be a good place for us to relocate to? We would like to be able to find good jobs, have pleasant weather, be in an area where our allergies won't get worse, and be in an environment that is diverse. Thanks in advance.
