Schools cutting back transportation to preserve gas (apartment complex, how much)

Just got a call and an e-mail from CMS saying they have postponed several after school activities so they can reserve fuel for transport to "school". I guess they can't get gas right now either!!!
Lets hope the fire departments have stocked up..........

cms will use it as an excuse to ask for un godly budget w/o consolidating routes or stops.

I heard this morning that fire truck companies will do the best they can but they do not like to have less than a half of tank of fuel

CMS wastes more money than is imaginable. The increasing cost of fuel is yet another example of why we should have neighborhood schools.

I'm sorry, but neighborhood schools may work for some, but not for others. It sets up a system of have and have nots. Unfortunately, where you live and how much money you make DOES impact the quality of the school greatly.

If you look at test scores, with very few exceptions, all of the schools with high tests scores get their students from affluent parts of town where parents have the time and resources to enrich the student's experience and volunteer at the school.

I will say that I have not seen the school bus parade through my apartment complex since the gas price early in the a.m. while out walking my dog.
