From the news report last night it said if you have the keys in the ignition then yes you will get the ticket but if you can start your car remotely then it will not effect you unless you leave the keys on the seat or something!

Ah, ok. That makes more sense. I did not know it excluded cars in a private driveway nor that a vehicle running without keys was ok. Now I can better understand the ticket giving. If they did try to steal my truck once I started it remotely they wouldn't get anywhere because, as others have said, it only runs for 10 minutes and if the door is opened the truck shuts off.

I could care one way or the other about this topic but just FYI. I thought I would point out that leaving your car idling more than a minute or so is actually VERY bad for your engine. Most of you probably don't care because we live in a throwaway society but if you DO care, well do some google searches and you will see what I am talking about. Obviously doing it once in a while probably won't hurt but for those of you that are leaving the care running for 10-20 minutes every morning all winter, well you can just take that information and do what you want with it.

I don't have to idle my car in the winter because I have heated seats!
