I received a mailing today, announcing that a 5000+ sf home in Providence Downs on .74 acres is going on auction at the end of the month. The starting bid is $100,000!!!
Sheesh! And I thought I was getting a deal at Harris Teeter the other day, when they were having a two-for-one sale on steak!

I live right down the street from that house. It is a beautiful house from the outside!! It should be interesting how much is sells for...I remember a couple of years ago it being on the market for just under a mil. It is sad because the situation hurts everyone in the area.

Dern. Y'all wanna go in and buy the house? Let's see . . . 100 people at a $1000 a piece.

Or maybe we should try . . . 1000 people at $100 a piece.

Then when we sell it in 2010, we each get a % of the profit.

Seriously. And some of those homes are big enough to house 100 of us! We'll just put up some extra walls.

I'm sure it will go for at least 500k. Don't let auctions fool you.

It must have a minimun amt. that it will sell for. They can make the opening bid a dollar if they want. This is just a marketing gimmick.
