Hello All,
After about a year of consistent research, my husband and I will finally be in Charlotte next week. My apartment complex sent me information regarding how to prepare for the move and they recommend that we connect the utilities before getting there. Can you please give me recommendations of which companies to use for electricity, gas, cable, phone and internet. I'm hoping to save some money and I know some companies have three in one packages for phone, cable, internet. Also, is there a company that also does electric and gas together? By the way, we'll be living in University City. Thanks in advance for your help

Duke Energy for electricity, Piedmont Natural Gas for gas. AT&T does a package deal with phone, satellite TV and DSL. Time Warner does a package with VoiP phone, cable TV and cable internet. I much prefer cable internet over DSL, but I find Vonage to be a much better deal than even the package deal from TW. And sorry, no, there is no company that does electricity and gas both. I was used to that too from California.
Just want to thank you for your message....we are a young couple considering to move to NC and this info have been helpful. Any recommendations in best town family friendly? Thanks.

Note, that some apartment complexes provide you with a list of the providers for their development. I had to use the providers that was given to me by complex.
There is also windstream for internet/phone/tv (dish network) bundles and they are a bit lower than TWC. Welcome to the area!
