So I've decided to move to Charlotte. Now I'm trying to compile a list of rental places to look at when I come to Charlotte. I am having such a hard time, especially with Craig's list. There are just too many scams out there. Does anyone have any recommendations on rental agencies or newspapers I can look at online for rental properties?
We actually had better luck with Craigslist than some of the rental agencies. Before signing a lease, check out the owner (verify place of employment, other ties to the community, etc) and carefully read and execute the lease. Some of these rental agencies are under a lot of pressure right now from owners using their services to get homes occupied and collect rent. They often lack the professional skills to communicate effectively, especially under pressure.
