I'll spare folks the gory details, but a neighbor of mine has set up a hive in her backyard so she can cultivate honey. I am not happy about this because it is right on my property line, and I wanted to find out if there is a law regarding how far these need to be from neighboring property.
I won't denigrate somebody else's hobby. However, I am highly allergic to bee stings and would prefer if her hive could be moved away from my adjacent garden. Hence my question on where to go to find out more information.

Oops, sorry ctribucher -- i thought you were inquiring about beekeeping because you wanted to set up hives in your backyard. I totally empathise with you; i think it's extremely inconsiderate to pursue this hobby unless you live in a rural area.
A good friend of mine, who is a very very senior exec with 3M raises them in his yard near MSP. He, of course has a huge yard, and checked with neighbors before he started. I was amused that a top exec would do this, but I also asked about keeping hives in his neighborhood.
In close quarters, it is inconsiderate to do so without first asking. Have you talked with the neighbor? Give her a chance if you have not. Good Luck.
