I'm a nightclub owner from New Orleans looking for a new location to build another world-class nightclub. I've heard Charlotte is in need of a new high-energy dance club. Any insight is appreciated. What are the top dance clubs in the city? Thanks, Frankie

I can't answer your question because I'm a Charlotte wantabe but I just wanted to say I love your name.
I think that ever since Mythos disappeared and was replaced by the Forum, the "high energy" dance club scene declined. Mythos always had DJs in from around the country and it was very unique. We certainly could use one, and the most desireable area would be the College St and Tryon St areas where most clubs and bars are concentrated. The vast majority of young uptown visitors park in the free lots/decks on 7th or under Rock Bottom off Tryon and walk to different clubs and bars. So Southend or Plaza Midwood may not be as successful as people would have to drive specifically there and can't go anywhere else without getting back in the car. There are a lot of residents in Southend and Plaza Midwood, but for a large, world-class club like I've been to in Miami and NY, you'd need to be in a more high traffic spot like right uptown.

Yeah, i would stay uptown. its growing with young dancin types.. lol. There are a few places. Check out Creative Loafing. It has all the clubs listed. They have a website, but the paper itself has all the club ads.
I'm moving to New Orleans in 2 weeks. Gimme somewhere to dance. =)
