I just heard (from my husband, who lived in Charlotte for a short time 8 years ago) that there are Steak n Shakes in Charlotte...yay!!! I'm originally from Louisville, and went to college in Indiana, so I got used to having Steak n Shake a couple times a month. For the past six years, I've lived out west, where we don't have SnS...I miss it! Skinny fries and a chocolate shake are sooooo good for a late-night snack! He he.

Although, I'm gonna miss In-n-Out when I move back east. You guys don't have that out there. It's the west coast's best kept secret. Just kidding. I don't know which one's better, SnS or InO. hmm...

They just built a new SNS in Mooresville right across the street from Target... I personally dont really like the fries. I'll take the chili, double steak burgers, and a choc/vanilla shake tho!

I could never really get over the name- I would always think of cholesterol and heart attacks, followed by increase in my blood sugar. But if they're opening a new one it must be good.

Ok, this is just my opinion, but we really don't like steak n shake. We have tried it twice now and haven't been pleased either time.

Now, there is a place that is comperable in taste and quality to In and Out.

It is called 5 Guys Burgers. There is one in Ballantyne and there is a new one on Ray Rd. near the new Target. They use all fresh, no frozen and cut their own fries.

Now if Charlotte would just get a Claim Jumper I would be all set.

Yeah, I agree. I always have felt that you need to take your cardiologist along to places like that!

I can't wait to eat at a Red Robin again. I've ate there twice but there is none here in South Florida.

I will give a thumbs up to Red Robin. But Steak and Shake especially the one on South Blvd is nasty.

We just had steak n shake in Concord on our visit...loved it. we had it the first time when we were in flordida. We were happy to see one there and to know there are a few locations. We didn't like the five guys place, we tried it and didn't care for it. I guess it is a matter of personal taste. My all time favorite fries were from a chain called Bun N Burger and they are long out of business.
I agree that a steak n shake ...shake and fries is the best thing at like midnight!! YUMM...

There's a Five Guys on Speedway Blvd. That should be a food group all on it's own. The single best cheeseburger I've EVER had.
