OK, so I lied I'm not a college grad...yet! Basically, I'm doing some research about where I want to live when I graduate. Right now I go to school in NC but I'm originally from the Philadelphia area, so I'm trying to decide if I want to return home when I graduate and work in either Philly or New York or stay in the biggest city close to school, Charlotte. I'll be a senior next year and I have one year of grad school but then I'll be done. I would obviously only choose to move to Charlotte if I had a job offer, so please assume this in your suggestions.
I've never been much of a city person. I'm actually kind of scared of them, Philly especially having grown up in the safe burbs immediately outside of the city. However, the majority of the jobs I want (accounting) are going to require me to be in/near a city. I would like to live somewhere surrounding Charlotte without having to be directly in the city. Could you tell me which areas I should look at? It would just be me, maybe a roommate. I wouldn't mind driving up to half an hour to work. Obviously, my search has just begun so please throw out any and all suggestions for me to look into further.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Really AJK, SO MUCH depends on where you get a job!
It really doesn't do you any good to fall in love with a particular area if it turns out your job is on the exact opposite end of the county.
Just be assured, there are areas here that you will love, your niche is waiting somewhere, the job however has to come first.
