How old is it?
Technology changes so fast that a 3-4 year old broken unit is really only worth $25-50.

craigslist or ebay. Make sure you are honest in your description of what works and does not work.

You would probably make more money if you pulled out the hard drive and RAM and listed all the parts seperatly on eBay.

Make sure to erase or destroy the hard drive before you sell it. As mullman said, the parts on an older broken unit are probably not worth much. Might be best off donating it to Goodwill or SA for a tax writeoff.

I recommend donating it. They can use the devices and you can write off a decent value. As bs said, just make sure you do a thorough clean of the HD.

If the laptop is not fully functional to begin with, and you are just going to donate / sell it for parts, I'd recommend simply taking out the HD altogether.
