Hello. We are doing research for our upcoming move to Charlotte (for hubby's job). As of now, two of the areas we are considering purchasing a home (up to $250K) in are Cornelius or University City. Feel free to send your thoughts on neighborhoods and high schools (we have a teen). We need to find a great daycare center and pediatrician (or family doc). Can anyone make recommendations on these or an active online moms' group?

Also, any suggestions on what recruiters to contact or have any recommendations on great employers to submit my resume to? My background is in Finance and Marketing and can work in any industry.

Thank you so much in advance.

I'd concentrate your home search to the Cornelius area (schools). Then look for daycare/pediatrician near the home. We have a great pedi but live in south Charlotte...

Thanks, Eli! I appreciate your response. It's funny, but after I sent the post, I realized that the daycare need would become more focused once we settled on a home (one of my "duh" moments, I guess). Hopefully, more replies are received.

We should be back in town in a few months.

We live in Cornelius, and I love, love, love our son's pedi...Dr. Wendy Tally at Growing Up Pediatrics in Cornelius. I am not sure if she is taking new patients, but there is another physician and a nurse practitioner there too. I have heard good things about both of them as well. Also, if you are moving to Cornelius, then you can get on Lakenormanmommies.com.

Good luck to you!

Ugaillini thanks for the pediatrician recommendation!

Hubby and I agreed to rent initially so that we can learn more about the areas. Something our recent trips there did not provide much time for. We would still like to be near Cornelius or University City.

So, now we are looking for suggestions on where to rent a home or apt, whichever is cost-effective considering if we rent an apt then we'd have 2 pay storage for all our things.

Suggestions are VERY much appreciated. Have a great weekend!
