You can get a house for under $250K in many areas of Charlotte. If you give us a better idea of what you are looking for in a home and community we can best advise you as to where to look.

One specifc ex: you can get over 3,100 sq ft, in Mint Hill which is a well liked area. Better yet use the Allen Tate, Tatemap feature and you can search the whole city and see for yourself what is out there. For instance you can filter out for 4 bedroom 3 bath homes between $175,000 and $250,000 and the map will pop up flags of all matching listings. You do have to center it on a specific zip code but then you can drag the map and see the entire city. Also you want o zoom in b/c some home will not pop up if you are zoomed out to far.

I see no reason to use a realtor specific site. Google maps has a very nice way of showing "pins" of homes for sale laid over their maps - tons of functionality including all the standard seaqrch criteria (price, size, etc).

I know of many homes in south Charlotte with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths with approx 3000 square feet, for 250k and less. I am sure you can find similar all around Charlotte. If you can narrow down the area in which you are interested, maybe by schools preferred or job location, you can get a lot more specific information.
