Which one is that? You mean - the one earlier this season - or years ago?

The one in 1993 had like 17 " of snow and then more on top of that - and hundreds of thousands out of power, etc. etc. Happened middle of March.

I would love to do a comparison of this storm coming up to an earlier one if you knew which one was being referenced. I enjoy storm tracking, lol!! (Yes, once again, it proves I am easily entertained!)

That March 1993 storm was a big ole Nor'easter and called the "Storm of the Century." I found some photos here:

Im glad you are showing pride in where you live.
It great to show your a North Carolinian.
"The newcomers are part of the problem a lot don't care about the state"

"The blacks are the problem, a lot are always stealing everything"

"The Gays are the problem a lot of them have AIDS"

It's not specifically newcomers that "don't care about the state"
It's not specifically blacks that steal
It's not specifically gays that have AIDS

All of the above is offensive, you just haven't been sensitized to the first one yet.

The word Newcomer isn't the problem, the problem is that you lumped all newcomers together and made a general blanketing disparaging statement that couldn't possibly be true. Most certainly going to offend some newcomers. Certainly there are newcomers that care about our state. Wouldn't you say?

Here are some vids and some footage from The Weather Channel, summarizing the Storm of the Century.

YouTube - Weather Channel - Blizzard of 1993 (1)

This shows the storm as it was forming:

Dang, Lu-Dog. What's the point here?

What was wrong w/ that statement? A lot of folks who move here (or to any other area) are not here for the longterm - so they feel no ownership. Why are you trying to make this into something else?

Chill out, dude!

A year ago March 2 was my husband's first day of work here in the Carolinas, and he "brought" with him a big snow storm. I got a kick out of that since we were still in Illinois and had no snow there on that day .

Maybe a repeat?
