Sunny, how was the balloon festival? Saw on the news that they did not light them until about 5 pm

I spent yesterday at an Irish Dancing comp at the University Hilton. I was helping with my sons dance school and I was amazed at how many pushy parents there are around. The kids were fantastic, it's the parents who are completely over the top about everything. Whew talk about living vicariously..... There are going to be many stressed out children growing up into stressed out adults in the near future LOL

Yes, and it is those poor kids that end up with ulcers and drug problems!

Rock slide on I-40 today, crushed a car; luckily the driver escaped with minor injuries. (and you guys wonder why I hate mountains???? )

Don't have a link to this...guess where I saw the coverage??? On WGN news tonight...for those that don't know...that is the CHICAGO news!!! Yes, our own WBTV had a small blurb on the rockslide, but, footage of it (with the rock that crushed the car) was on WGN. Does anyone else find that disturbing?

And, just one more disturbing feature...I am planning to drive to Chicago in a little more than a week and that is one of the routes that we take. The road will be closed for a couple of months, they say.

I remember this happening in Cali, years ago. Some guy was driving his Porsche with his sunroof open down PCH (which runs along the ocean, near Malibu) and a rock fell off the cliff and right through the sunroof killing him!
