I've lived at Alexander Place for approximately 6 months (just moved from S.C.). I like the location and the apartments. I definitely feel that it is a safe area. No problems with any neighbors, no loud noises or strange activities at night. I haven't had any maintenance problems, no issues with the management staff in the office. The grounds are always well maintained. So, overall Alexander Place is a thumbs up after six months.

I lived in Providence Court for 3 months. It is a huge place. Grounds are well-maintained and so are the units, although heat in the winter is spotty (too hot in some rooms, and too cold in others). Management fairly quick to respond to requests for maintenance issues. There are tons of kids there and there is always a black and white to watch the kids walk all the way from the back to the gate where the bus stops to pick them up. For the most part, it is quiet although there are a lot of transients (people on short term leases) waiting to move into permanent homes, so not enough time to really get to know your neighbors. Huge Portuguese speaking population. Difficult to get out of complex during school hours as it takes a while for school busses to load which holds up traffic on Pineville-Matthews.

bibit612, if I could ask, do the Providence Court units have in-unit washers and dryers, and Internet ready connections?

Diane and NorthSouth - You could rent a washer/dryer combo for $30 a month for the pair. Call the management office for the name of the company. It is a full sized pair, not one of those little apartment sized ones. Also, I have to add that I found water pressure strong and temperatures hold steady, even with both showers running simultaneously. Cupboard/cabinet space is ample including a pantry and each unit is equipped with a home alarm system, but you have to sign up for monitoring with CMPD to get it activated.
