I had a field mouse break into my bathroom through the pipe under the toliet. I bought a few mice traps today and my friend plans on installing them in the attic for me. This is my first season in this townhouse. I have sealed up every holes I could find in both bathrooms, laundry closet, kitchen with steel wool and heavy industrial white duct tape. I also put a few traps in the garage as well, though I haven't seen or heard anything in there. There is some major construction / ground moving about a mile away from my townhouse, so don't know if that could cause a issue for me this season.

It's been a while since we've seen a mouse. Now that I think of it....it might have something to do with the black snake I see under the front porch from time to time. I also heard the local barred owls near the house last night. Better than any mouse trap.

This is the time of year to start seeing them though...the construction might be a factor.

My cat takes care of the mice and moles and keeps the squirrels run off (they like to get into attics!!!) We have been amazed that we see no critters since we got Mr. Kitty.

I saw my first mice in Charlotte this past Saturday. We were sitting outside eating at La Peep and turned to see mice nesting in the bush behind our table. It didn't scare us, we kept on eating.

Black snakes are good for that. Had a lot of them in my backyard because of all the mature trees I had, when I owned a home a few years ago and I never saw one mouse in my house. The snakes would get them before they had a chance to hit the porch!

I can't have any pets because I have a bad reaction to pet hair and pet dander

Thank you for reminding me why I don't eat outside! My wife would have lost her mind if a mouse was nearby when we were eating.

Ok, call me naive but I thought my mouse days were over when I left Brooklyn, NY. I soooo don't want to see a mouse in my house in NC.

There are mice in every state in the US. If you don't want one in the house make sure every little opening is closed up, check the crawl space and attic areas. I keep glue boards in the garage (because the snake can't really get in there) but mostly catch crickets and other bugs, rarely a mouse.
