I own a real estate agency along the coast and I feel compelled to say the following. Please-Interview and then contract with a great Buyer's Broker before you do anything else. Remember-A Buyer';s Broker is contracted to look after your best interests and to negotiate the best deal for you.
Get a Buyer's Broker there in Charlotte before you leave Florida!!!

We just moved here almost 7 weeks ago from South Florida. Are you planning to sell your house in FL or have you sold it yet? I would advise you to make sure you have a sale first before moving here unless having 2 homes would not be a problem for you. Our house was on the market for 7 months in FL. We finally sold it 2 months after closing on the one in Charlotte. We had 2 mortgages for 2 months which made me a nervous wreck. The market in FL is a tough one right now. We sold our house there for $100K less than our original asking price - ouch!!!!
