FWIW...they are making snow (but not much). It looks like they might be trying to make a snowboard tube right now. There is no way this will open soon though.
I rode through the parking lot to look at it Saturday and I must say that I wasn't really impressed with it. Its cool that they are doing this, but they need some colder weather (like we have right now) to get this thing really going. I'll also admit part of the reason I wasn't really impressed is because I expected a bit more. When I heard where it was to be, I was thinking the run would be a bit longer.
Right now, I'd pass on it until they get more snow out. It did look like they were working their smow machine pretty good. Its more like a giant ice maker. And they have a backhoe to put the snow out with. Give it a week or 2 and it should be good, weather permitting.
I went a few weeks ago and it is AWFUL! Don't waste your money... at least check it out before you buy tickets. By the time you purchase tickets, you could go up to the mountains and spend all day there for the same price.
Snow Park USA has false advertising, all of Symphony Park isn't covered there is just one small hill. It isn't even snow, it is ice chips. My son went down a total of three times before he was bored. The kicker is you have to blow up your own tubes that deflate after three runs! Please don't waste your money!
it is a great idea, but I have heard the same feedback from people who have tried it. Everyone said the ones in the mountains are better. Maybe the company will fix it up for next year?
I'm sorry, but if they couldn't make enough snow in the middle of the biggest cold snap in a generation, they sure won't be able to do it in out normal winter weather next year.
It's a bummer b/c the concept is a good one. I wonder what happened to unused gift certificates. I read that some people were getting their $ back. Hope everyone is.
