We are looking at moving this summer to Charlotte. My daughter rides horses (English) and is getting ready to start showing. Was wondering if anyone knows the requirements for showing at the barns in Charlotte. Here we have to have all our own equipment (can lease the horse, but own saddle, saddle stand, bridle, etc) and outfits (hunt club jacket, show helmet...). Is that required in Charlotte or is there a more "community property" choice from the barns?
It is totally going to depend on the individual stable. Latta has some horse shows and trail riding but I don't think their group of students actually show other than perhaps some small fun shows, they are more for trail riding. You need to contact some lesson facilities and go from there. Some farms have their own small fun shows just for their students and some are more competative and show big time across the country. Most farms in general though, have tack available for the horse that you lease since the tack should fit the horse.
Let me know how competative you are talking about and where you will be living and I can recommend some farms.
