That's a good question. Years ago, this was done in the shoe stores, usually when you bought shoes. Try to find a real, old-fashioned shoe store. There aren't many left, but they're out there. Good luck finding one.
Just had 1 pair of shoes stretched… Awesome job! The stretching cost $10... Might be a little drive for you, but I highly recommend!

there are plenty of shoe places left and they do good business..i hate when people on this board post when they really have nothing to contribute....thanks for the information guys!!!
There is a good, old-fashioned shoe repair place that I think is reasonable and closer than Lee Shoe Repair in Rock Hill (which is also good: I like Lee shoe repair in Pineville (6648 Carmel Road) (704-542-7463). Not only were they able to expertly stretch shoes, but they're the only place I could find which would stretch the full shanks of boots.
I do agree that a good cobbler is hard to find--there are not as many down here as there were in the north, where I'm from--they're more common there. But Lee in Pineville is excellent and reasonable.

I suppose that this was directed at me. I was referring to non-chain full-service shoe stores. Sorry that you felt that way about my post. I went 3/4 of the way through the shoe store listing for Charlotte before making that post, looking for a store like what I know gives the service & either found nothing or the stores didn't have a website to verify, as I would not want to give bad information. I will not post to any of your questions in the future.
