Friend of mine. Finished diesel school about 3 months ago and just relocated here. Also have Bachelors in Industrial Engineering. Just trying to see if I can help him or lead him in the right direction
Any chance it was Engine City Tech? Since he is a new graduate, has he contacted his school's career placement department to inquire about job leads? That's where I would start ...
Lincoln (formerly DADC) has a huge network, lots of contacts and more than 60 years in the industry. His best bet would be to contact their job placement department for assistance.
I periodically check a free publication called the Employment Guide and the Job Guide that frequently list transportation industry jobs. I usually see them at the supermarket, Wal Mart, etc. I have seen jobs specifically for diesel mechanics, heavy equipment operators, CDL drivers, etc.
If your friend has any experience, he might be able to get a position on an upcoming job my husband has in Union County. He would obviously have to apply for it, interview, and probably move himself. Since he's not senior level, I don't picture him getting a relocation package. He would have a better chance at it if he actually lived here, though...
