Does anyone know of a good summer camp I get sign up for! I only have one week and I'm out of time! Let me know ... something other than the YMCA, due to expense! Thx.

The Y seemed pretty reasonably priced, I know Providence Day Providence Day School*-*Summer programs / Fun Stuff (http://www.providenceday.org/home/content.asp?id=1601 - broken link)
last week had openings in some of the camp sessions, I signed my daughter up for a week, pricing I think was about that of the Y, can't remember Y prices since it's been a while since I looked there.

I just went back and looked at the Siskey YMCA summer camp list (thinking of adding a week for my daughter) and the prices really were reasonable. I'm paying 200 for one week of half day camp for her at Prov. day, where at Siskey camp is from 7 am to 630 pm for around $200. too bad they didn't offer the tennis/swim camp my daughter was interested in I looked around at a lot of camps, and I don't think I saw anything cheaper, maybe for half days, which is mostly what I looked for for my daughter, but not for full days!

Depending on where you live....my neighbor's kids have gone to a place in Indian Trail/Lake Park called "Miss Dee Dee's Afterschool Care". I haven't used the facility or visited them, but my neighbor seemed to like them pretty well and she said they do a lot of activities and field trips with the kids.

the Y's offer financial assistance if that helps any - they want everyone to be able to attend regardless of ability to pay

The best summer camps in the South East are Camp Sea Gull (for boys) and Camp Seafarer (for girls). They are located on the coast of North Carolina on the Neuse River.
They are YMCA sponsored camps that are funded by the Capital Area YMCA (from Raleigh, NC)

Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer

The camps are absolutely phenomenal in their offerings of activities, including a fleet of over 50 sail boats, motor boats, an 18 hole golf course, canoe lake, zipline, climbing wall, archery, tennis courts, horse back riding, and general athletics. The staff is top notch and are truly there for the kids.

Definitely worth checking out if you are considering summer camps...

What area are you looking at? Union County Schools has a summer camp starting June 11 at Sardis Elem. There is a one time activity fee of $100 which includes two field trips per week plus the activities at the school. Then it is $100/week which includes lunch and two snacks. Hours are 7:00am until 6 pm. The best deal I found yet.

I was reading the May issue of Charlotte Parent and came across a couple of ads (I have NO idea about the areas the camps are in or how they are, justs ads in the paper!)
1. Camp Joy "convenient uptown location/children aged 5-11/educational activities/math/science/field trips/$65/week"
2. Community Charter School 510 South Torrence St Charlotte "summer camp available/7 am to 6 pm/ $70 per week"
