Hello everyone,

I know there are several realtors that post on here so I am hoping a few will respond. I have recently moved to the area (Concord) from NJ (where else.) I was a full time agent in NJ for a few years. I have two job offers...one with a builder (one I am not so sure about after reading some of the posts on this forum) or two as a traditional agent within a large team. Does anyone have any feelings on which would be better based on experience? I have 4 kids and need flexibility although I have full time help from my mom and husband (when he isn't working.) But I am not so sure about traditional real estate because I am not all too familiar with the area although I live in a large development and would like to farm this area for listings. Any thoughts or advice as to where I should work or who are the good builders and/or traditional agencies to work for would be much appreciated. Thanks!

HI
When you say "Traditional" do you mean as in an established neighborhood like Dilworth?
Or do you mean a new master plan community that evokes these turn-of-the-century neighborhoods with a little downtown of their own like Baxter Village or Vermillion?

I do not think I could handle being an on site agent. It would be like working a 9-5 and weekends.

I also feel that if you work for a bigger agency this can hurt too starting out with all the "fees" they charge. While I am sure the exposure of a big name helps some with leads. I personally like working for a smaller firm where I can either starve or strive as much as I want without getting desk fees etc.

IMO if I was you would be to interview as many places as possible and see what is the best fit. Maybe you could becomes someone assistant until you felt you knew the area better.

Either way you need to get that NC License first

Good Luck!
