We purchased a New Ryan Home almost one year ago. The home came out beautiful and we have been very happy with the workmanship and design. The problem is the lot. We were promised (and paid a large premium) for a spacious lot that would be mostly flat except for the "very back" which would have a slope. The finished product was heart-breaking to say the least. We have a large hill in the yard approx. 6ft. from the right corner of the house being contained by 41/2 ft retaining- wall that was never ever mentioned. More than 1/2 my lot is unsafe and unusable for myself and four children. We continue to have problems with drainage and with Ryan homes who ignores our calls.

Why are you calling them? Why aren't you documenting your dissatisfaction in writing?

You moved into the home and closed even though the lot was not the one you paid for and selected? How do you want them to resolve it at this point?

Do you have documentation detailing the specifics of the lot you did choose?

Has Ryan commented on the issue at all?

Trying to understand what type of help you're seeking at this time.

sara lee is right. you did a walk through and has an inspection, as well as a final inspection before you went to closing.
why didn't you speak up then?
the only recourse you have is if they agreed in writing to fix the lot at closing.
