My niece is receiving Communion at Saint Matthews on 5/1 and my sister-in-law cannot find dresses anywhere. Anyone know where to get traditional girls' dresses? Thanks.

Strausburgs Children Shop at Concord Mills Mall has a nice collection of First Communion Dresses but if you're looking for a bargain they also have them at Ross Dress For Less.

Belk's...Macy's...TJ Maxx...
Try the better Consignment Shops for some bargains...
LOVE Strausburgs, but expect to pay $100+ for a dress there.

Thanks so much for your help! This is interesting because she told me she went to every department store at CP Mall this weekend and was told at each that they do not carry them. This is her passive agressive way to get someone else to do the leg work for her (which obviously worked on me).

Burlington Coat Factory used to carry them. Don't know if they still do or not.

They have them at Belk, Lord & Taylor and JCPenney's but one year, my BIL who was with us looking around at the mall at that time commented that the styles that they had (spaghetti straps, etc.) seemed to him inappropriate for Communion. They were being designed to look like flower girl/bridesmaid dresses in keeping with today's bridal gowns. I ordered mine on the internet from a company in California for about $85, but I had plenty of lead time. It was beautiful then as it is to this day 8 years later.
