We are trying to convince my parents about moving to NC. Just wondering if anyone knows of any 55 and older active adult communities in the Matthews/Union County area? Also, pricing.

Quick check on MLS shows The Cottages in Pineville -- I have not been out there yet. My parents just moved to Sun City in Lancaster SC and absolutely love it. I can tell because it is increasingly more difficult to get them to babysit They are 13 minutes from my house -- I live in Hunter Oaks in Union County (closer to South Charlotte/Marvin area) In SC there is Sun City (priced from 200s to 500s) and Four Seasons at Gold Hill (generally in the 300s)

There is a community, "The Polo Club at Weddington" in Matthews which is near a nice Park. I think the builder is also going to build on the site next to it which is in Union County and will be a 55+ community that offers lawn care services. You should check it out.

There's a new one under construction on the East side of Providence just South of 485... I'll try to remember looking for the name next time I pass by.

I'm in Union County, and whenever my friends' parents move down here looking for that type of community, it's always Sun City that they end up. I haven't heard a bad thing about it!
