I was looking at the proposed Beatties Ford Corridor Project but as I was looking at the map it looks like a new road will be going in
called Vance Road ext. it is the purple dotted line. (the legend doesnt explain the orange dotted line im not sure what that is.

You can also see proposed subdivisions and established ones

I used to live in Wedgewood right there by the intersection of Vance and Mt Holly Huntersville Rd. back when Reames and Vance roads were nothing but trees. No mall, no 485, no nuthin. The Vance Rd ext has always "been on the books" and we all wondered when it was gonna happen.

hmm looks like it is going to run right through my neighborhood and house in Gilead Village. I may need to attend that public hearing. The orange line is the Beatties Ford Road buffer.

Thank you for the map. Very interesting. If you look at it, the legend does explain the orange dotted line. It is the "BFR Corridor Buffer", maybe Beatties Ford Road Corridor Buffer? Take a look at the map again.

I see that our Greenway around Rosedale has not been approved, still...

you are correct about the orange I guess I was looking for a line on legend not the box lol.

What I find very interesting or scary at current road conditions is where all these roads are ending.

Base on that map it looks like Vance will end where Beatties Ford ends at Hwy 73 and also it looks like the proposed Hugh Torrance Parkway will end at that same location. I just hope the state does some massive widening of highway 73 or that area will become even more gridlock.

I was thinking of buying in Gilead Ridge. And it looks like the Beatties Ford Corridor will run right through this development. Does anyone know the timeframe on when this project will begin and end?

I live in Gilead Ridge and before we built I checked the maps. The only proposed road through Gilead Ridge was Hugh Torrence Parkway Ext. It was on the 2020 proposed map. This may have changed since I last checked. Also, be aware that there are many dead end roads in Gilead Ridge that may someday be connected (Hugh Torrence is one of them). There is still a lot of farm behind the development. Hopefully it will stay there!
