My husband and I are planning a trip to Charlottesville VA in the fall. Can someone recommend hotels and restaurant? We are willing to spend up to $125 a night for a hotel.

My favorite place in Charlottesville is the Omni Downtown Hotel. Parking there is easy and it is accessible to the downtown Mall with shops, restaurants.

Ditto on the above post. Down the street, Main St actually, is a Hampton Inn, a few blocks farther from the Downtown Mall. And at UVA there is a Red Roof Inn, at the Corner District with a couple clubs and several restaurants. Little Johns and Baja Bean among my favorites there. It would take 15 to 20 mins max to walk from the Red Roof Inn to the Omni to give you an idea of the layout. The Hampton Inn is right in the middle.

We stayed at the Omni last weekend and it is such a great, convenient location - totally walkable for the fantastic pedestrianised Main Street and UVA, as well as other restaurants and things that aren't on Main St but are in the downtown area. The Omni isn't as elegant as there website makes them sound but it's nice enough.
