Relocating to C-ville from Baton Rouge, need advice on where to buy a house, have two elementary age children. Price up to $200K close to city. I have done extensive research on web, but no professionals can give there honest opinion due to "rules". Need insider advice, I like diversity, just need to be a safe neighborhood. Bringing my remodeling business with me also need to know if there is generally a high demand for that, thanks!

Now keep in mind I haven't lived in the Charlottesville area since 2004 but I don't think there are any neighborhoods close to town where you could buy a house for under $200K. You might want to look in the Crozet/Ivy area and towards Lake Monticello. You shouldn't have any problem finding a nice house for the money...I just don't know if it would be located within a planned community...if that's what you're looking for.
