A possible job in Charlottesville would require a move from TN. Are there any areas that are on the conservatve christian side and family friendly within a 30 minute drive from Charlottesville? Real estate prices would need to be cheaper than Charlottesville as well. Thanks

Waynesboro seems generally to be considered more conservative than Charlottesville, and would certainly be less expensive.

Louisa would also fit the description of being cheaper, within 30 minutes of C-ville & there are conservative Christian churches throughout the county.

In regards to the Louisa suggestion, I noticed the earthquake of 2011. Are there many earthquakes in VA?

No, there are not a lot of earthquakes in Va. But the earthquake has depressed real estate prices even further. There are homes that were severely damaged. If you look at property in Louisa County, you may want to make sure someone checks for earthquake damage before you buy anything.

Had 2 in last 10 years that you could really feel. Most damage minor to none away from center.

Most of the conservative churches are baptist. Basically if you stay out of Cville proper you should be happy

Most people who move out to Louisa end up regretting it as it feels really far out there and not a whole lot of development. I would recommend Greene county, va. There are many nice neighborhoods and it is only a 15 minute drive into Charlottesville. Plus Greene county now has it's own shopping that is continuing to develop. Stay in the Ruckersville area and/or the Barboursville area.

I disagree with juliegurel. There are plenty of folks in Louisa who are quite happy there. If you will work in the Pantops area, Louisa is better than Greene County in my opinion. The UVA area is also easy to get too, especially if you live in the Zion Crossroads area.

Lynchburg fits the bill for christian conservativism.
