I'm not sure exactly how we swung it, but my husband has managed to land a job in the #1 place we wanted to live! We're really excited, but also (truth be told) a little terrified. We know no one in the area and have no idea who to ask about things like pediatricians, family doctors, etc. (We also have no idea where we're going to be living, but that's a whole 'nother thread.
)
Anybody have any information on how to get acclimated in Charlottesville? Helpful groups to join? Feeling a little lost right now...

The first thing to do is set a budget for housing and then find a place to live within reasonable commuting distance to work.......and zoned for a decent elementary school.

Pediatric Associates is a large practice with incredibly accommodating hours. In general we have many excellent physicians so you can maybe decide where you will be located and use convenience as part of your criteria. We found when we moved here that we made many friends through our children's friends and shared information for resources such as you are looking for. There are three (at least) Montessori Schools here, if that is any indicator of how nice it is for families with young children. Welcome!
