Yikes,
It seems you have them as bad if not worse than up here. We get them in the fall, but come winter-especially last winter (we had a record 100 inches of snow) they are belly up. I sprayed our house, and that helps alot. I was hoping it was a regional thing. Guess not! I do tend to agree that the color of the house may have something to do with it.

Wow 100 inches. What did you use to spray your house with ? I'm afraid it's not just a regional thing, my neighbor about 1/2 mile away has not had any at all....

I'm reffering to the Asian ladybug beetle....http://www.ipm.iastate.edu/ipm/iiin/ladybeetles.html

Not the Japanesse Beetles...http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef409.asp

I tried using Home Defense, and I think they were laughing at me while I sprayed because it didn't stop them. I was so looking forward to having my windows open with the fresh air coming in through the screens, and now my home is sealed tight because of these critters.

It was just some over the counter stuff. It dropped them dead on contact. But the next day they gathered reinforcements. It is the Asian ladybug beetle I was referring to, your right. They are about gone now, but will be back in the spring! It has been like Chattanooga here the last few days with record highs in the 70's. We need a good cold snap! Did I say that?
