Really I'm referring to cost of living, property tax, sales tax...etc. Would it benefit to live in a different state due to taxes but work in Chattanooga. Thanks for any help. Mark

Georgia has no sales tax on groceries, but has an income tax.

Chattanoogans are more sophisticated and less "back-woods" than the Georgia or Alambama residents.

I hate to use the term "redneck," but that's how it appears to be in Georgia and Alabama, as well as other parts of Tennessee. When I was here looking at houses, which were less expensive in both Georgia and Alabama, both real estate agents I was working with told me to stick with Chattanooga due to the "progressive" nature of its residents. I'm glad I did.

from my typos you'd think I'm enjoying a butterfinger here on the computer

Chattanooga is as sophisticated as a Tier III town can get, yet still retains that bedroom community feel.

I moved from Chicago to N Ga because it's not "progressive".
I lived in your progressive utopia and couldn't wait to get out. High taxes, high crime, oppressive local governments and corruption.
You call those in N Ga rednecks. That's a pretty big generalization, don't you think?
I was called a redneck in Chicago because I wasn't one of your "progressives"
But, if having morals, values and a love of God and country is a redneck, I'll wear that badge proudly.

I am proud to call Ringgold my adopted home.

I spent 6 months researching Tenn and N Ga. I decided on N Ga because houses are more affordable, property taxes lower, lower sales tax.

The people around there are great. friendly and talkative. Plus there are a lot of people from IL. We're from Wheeling and one of our neighbors are from Franklin Pk.

Let me know,I'll give you the name of my realtor. The guy is fantastic. I've sent 3 of my friends to him already
