Dashed into Bi-Lo on Tennesee Ave. to buy some stuff and y'all know what? Phones were out! "So what", you say? Guess what? No prescriptions could be filled and you could only pay by cash at checkout (no credit cards or debit cards). Good thing I just came from the bank and had some cash, we usually pay with our debit card.

Bi-Lo has filed for bankruptcy. Coincidence? Probably not.

Hmm, I would have had to leave. I (sadly) never have cash these days.

I've also heard that Chattanooga is getting an Earth Fare Grocery somewhere over near Hamilton place. They are like Greenlife only way better prices. I'd be excited to have one nearby.

I've heard that Bi-Lo no longer has credit with any of their vendors, that everything has to be paid for in cash. When I went to the Cleveland store today, there were some "ragged" places in the shelves. Doesn't look good.

I'd be ecstatic if Kroger took over some of the locations. Here's to hoping.

Kroger is the most expensive grocery store chain I have ever shopped in. I would think Publix would buy some of the old BI-LO stores since they are trying to grow in this area and are doing quite well.
