Cool Great retirement

P: Welcome to board, interesting screen name . .... My speed boat collector friend lives in that town . He helped retore the RailRoad tain station. Lives on one of the many bays where the Tenn river widen out called Watts Bar lake .
... Biggest item in town is one of the TVA Nuclear reactors that is being enlarged for electricity . Many pipe / concrete contractors in that region last six months. . There are many retirees that moved in about three years ago, as region was marketed as a golf community by RARITY properties. They also started section in West Chatanooga ,& Dayton . Recently , like other real estate , had Auctions for un-sold lots. Any bare land is a crap shoot between banks, & developers who actually OWN the DIRT.!! If your PLACE is actually a building , would double check TITLE Ownership .?? IMO.
Other golf course properties not being finished.
.. A few other High End Boat Mfgs (SEA RAY , etc) have also expanded in this lower Knoxville region , as a very big New LOCK is being build here in Chattanoga for longer barges, yachts.
.. Winter gets a very light dusting of snow . Usually melts in six hours . Some temps can hit 20 degrees in am , so some concern for morning road ICE.! . HIKING is all along WALDEN RIDGE , (Cumberfland Plateau ) CT 305 linear mile State park being connected by volunteer effort , LInk can be found. College groups come spring , summer. This will get you started. Write anytime . I am on the south side of Dayton , also on a river cove. Good water quality for fishing / swimming , etc, kayak , or power boating. MTN biking also big here . Chattanooga many outdoor festivals on weekends, cycles , scooter, etc.
Sorry for the delay.

Tempature would be close to Chattanooga or Knoxville. Spring City is a small town, so be prepared to travel 20-25 miles to Dayton, Crossville or Rockwood.

i was born in spring city an raised in fl. i have tried to live in spring city off an on for yrs. some people are friendly, just like anywhere else. jobs are scarce housing is too. u have to drive 20 to 50 miles for a good dr and hospital, the weather is proable better than where u are at. less u retired i go to bigger city like chattanooga. that is where most go to shop or knoxville. or crossville. i like living there but couldnt find a good pencostal church to go to. it has its pros and cons just like else where. depends on u r taste
