Metea is in Aurora, but yes, a lot of Naperville kids attend Metea. However, a lot of Aurora kids attend Metea as well. The distribution might even be about equal. The school is located in Aurora, so I'd say I consider it an "Aurora school" that happens to have Naperville kids attending it. But that's just my opinion!

I can see where he's coming from. When I moved to Aurora, everyone told me "make sure you're in Naperville schools", meaning District 204, which has 13 schools in Aurora. Metea is part of 204.

Dude, it is a single event being investigated, not like it is a rash of molestation. The only mention of Aurora is for the location of the event, which is accurate.

I get this is a single incident. I was just kind of commenting on how protective Naperville is of its' repuation and how good things generally get credited to Naperville and bad to Aurora.

For example, if Metea has a football team go to state the article will be written up "New Naperville School Heads to State One Year After Opening." If a gun gets brought to the schoool "Aurora School Shut Down After Gun Thread."

Anybody who's lived in the area for long -- and I've been here over 30 years--- knows what the guy is saying. It's just a commentary on how things are, no reason for people to get defensive. It's always been there but after the Cruz and Hernandez mess in the 80s in the Nicarico case it's a very real feeling in Aurora that Naperville considers itself the upper class All-American city and Aurora is the blue collar town of undocumented aliens and tons of crime. I live in one of the supposedly worst sections of town and don't see that at all, but that's the perception of probably most people in both towns. Not a biggee. Just one of those things.
Personally I love the diversity of Aurora and the different cultures mingling and find Naperville too uptight and conformist, but that's just me.
But I understand precisely what the original poster was saying.
