Hey guys,

I'm thinking of buying a car and operate it as a taxi. But I can't drive it myself.
Can I lease out my " TAXI " to another driver for a fixed amount weekly ?

THANKS ALL

I can drive it and you cover the gas and insurance. In return, you get a percentage of my earnings.

You're likely to need a medallion to operate the vehicle as a taxi. A medallion is a permit allowing you to pick up hails on the streets.

You'll also need taxi insurance. This is likely to be very expensive, far more so than car insurance for cars used for personal purposes.

Some car services hire independent contractors who own their own taxis. Others have their own fleet, and you'd be competing with them. I don't know how the car services in Aurora operate.

You'd need to run the numbers and figure out whether owning a taxi would be profitable.

I'd start by calling the City of Aurora City Clerk: (630) 256-3070
