What's the best area near Schaumburg/Arlington Heights?

Looking for a house in the 4's

What's the best part to look in?

I'm open to Schaumburg, A Heights, P Heights, Mt. Prospect, Wheeling, Hoffman Estates, EGV and Palatine, need to be fairly close to Woodfield Mall for work.

TIA

AH (dist 25, dist 23), Prospect Heights (dist 23), Mt. Prospect (dist 57, dist 26) Wheeling (dist 23) would be my first choices. Dist 54 serves Schaumburg, parts of EGV and parts of Hoffman and is decent elementary school district. Dist 15 serves parts of Hoffman and Palatine.

What do you seek in you neighborhood and vicinity to be happy. One point about Prospect Heights is NO sidewalks and most homes are on septic and well water instead of sewers and Lake Michigan water. many like this because it gives it a country feeling, I hate seeing kids walk to and from school on the shoulders of Willow/Thomas and Schoenbeck and when my kids were very young excluded PH due to lack of sidewalks-didn't want kids riding in the streets even if they were pretty quiet.
