I think its time they finally build a bridge.
Everytime a train stops it blocks 3 damn towns from bellwood to maywood and melrose.
Stone park has a bridge and forest park has the train elevated.
Everyone else in between gets stuck.

i don't think "grade seperation" has anything to do with this. People of all classes, colors and creeds drive on major roads in inner ring suburbs.

What does this have to do with derailment? It sounds like what happens during normal operation. I assume you are referring to the UP west line at 25th avenue, which was studied for such a project, but after millions were spent they still haven't done anything. In Illinois any transportation project has to be studied and restudied before preliminary design is started, then final design and ultimately, construction.

3 streets where blocked for about 5 hours which caused everyone to funnel into 1st or mannheim and traffic stretched for miles.
