There's probably 5,000 houses for sale which meet that description. Why on earth do you need to go on a message board to ask random strangers if they're selling a house? I say get a realtor and go from there. Will probably be more effective.

I agree with above, get a realtor and they will be able to help you.

We have a realtor. I'm basically looking for people who haven't listed their houses yet b/c, according to our realtor, the market has really picked up in our price range and houses are going quickly. To your comment about asking strangers about buying their houses...isn't that the way it works for most people--you buy a strangers house? Sure my method is different but I need to get creative at this point.

Right now is the slowest time of the year and tough for home buying. If you can hold out for a few months, the spring boom will kick in with many more listings.

We bought a house during this time frame last year, just a bit above your price range in the same area. We ended up getting a home that was listed above our price range for a steal. The seller wanted to unload it after sitting on it all winter and was super motivated - so keep your eyes peeled for price drops.

I hope you find a great home!

You can also try Woodridge, Lisle, Downers Grove, Lockport, Crest Hill, and maybe even parts of Aurora. Right now I know there are tons of homes in these areas that met your criteria just got to keep looking!
