Population per census for Glendale Heights, Il. 2014 Population total estimate Whites - 17,953, Blacks - 2,005, Native American Indian or Alaskans -206, Asians 7,575, Hispanics - 10,512 (total) 38,251....Glendale Heights Census....So what inner city races are moving to Glendale Heights, Il.? Drug rate astronomically high....regarding Opiates "Heroin" Deaths in just Glendale Hghts. Il. over 36%.....Now murder was never mentioned but if you calculate the high rates of deaths for just Heroin Opiate overdose much higher statics compared to Chicago considering Chicago is a larger area, selling drugs is murder....our youth are dying at a rapid rate from purchases of heroin in Glendale Heights, Il, alone, now equate Molly (Ecstasy deaths) our synthetic marijuana is killing and crippling our kids at another high rate Why? because it consists of Heroin, Cocaine, harmful manmade chemicals, meth, etc. defined as KUSH...adults are overly addicted also to the synthetic drug! cocaine sales have fallen severely because mixing the Kush is much more lucrative for dealers it Cushions their pockets because all harmful components which are much heavier and more addictive (HEROIN)! Again Parents We do not want to lose our kids to a death whether by guns, or drug overdoses Lets use logic and stand our ground and hold these politicians in Dupage County accountable for our tax dollars....No more blaming the dealers We need to go to those who are looking the other way, politicians and police departments either they earn their pay checks and pensions or they must be removed and replaced by those who honestly care about the welfare of our kids, youths, teenagers, adults, human beings period and not sort out who we protect, we have a high crime rate of robberies, thefts, domestic violence, highest amount of registered and non registered sex offenders in our community....not simply offenders age 18 who had sex with someone 16, But Child molesters, Rapists, drug dealers.....We must become the change we want to see either we start working to protect out innocent or the innocence shall be lost to these sick offenders with no respect to human life! Parents check out who your kids are interacting with get more involved do not assume because the kid looks innocent that makes them a good kid, how do you think our kids are getting involved with these drugs...we were once kids THINK!! Let's Protect our kids....I care...and I know You as a parent care also.....Politicians, police departments, Government officials are not all concerned about the welfare or safety of our kids or elders, disabled or people in general this is a Money guaranteed Pension security Blanket for them We do not see constructive actions legitimate actions then we as parents must take action within our communities in general! Murder is murder whether by a gun, or by a purchase of a controlled illegal drug, or controlled prescriptions is murder or suicide!!Please go to You-tube and put in the drugs You would cry out in anger check out the high rates by just typing in drug overdoses in Glendale Heights through regular browsers You will be shocked and flabbergasted with anger, fear...many mixed emotions...we cannot run, we must protect our communities and those not helping the community but hindering it....should be removed. This is not a section 8 or housing subsidy thing "SURPRISE".... Drug dealers have no need for section 8 or housing subsidies why would they? Think of all the money they are acquiring through people on drugs needing to recruit others to invest in drugs also which ,makes them look at our kids and have kids sell drugs or give drugs to our kids in school out of school sleepovers etc. which gives those sex offenders also access to our innocent....sad story but truth!! No more living unrealistically but logically and protectively for our communities!!

Parents, and all family members you need to stop this heinious crime the police department is turning the other way from...you want to keep your kids and family members around longer hold these we pay tax dollars to accountable for having a blind side!! The politicians and police departments...we must unite together because drugs do not discriminate and all drugs kill!! No more being calm start watching your kids very carefully and cautiously....even follow them discreetly, it may hurt you...but you must put those emotions aside and realize you will be saving your kid or family members life!! Drugs do not Discriminate and neither do the dealers or suppliers!!
Im sure you have a valid point of view. BUt I got news for you EVERY town in America whether you think you are safe or not, has a underbelly you are not aware of. Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Schaumburg, or any other "Safe" or "Ghetto Free" have Prostitution, Drugs, Sex Offenders, Corrupt Cops, etc. Its everywhere. Do what you have to do to protect your kids, but don't think for a minute your out of a danger zone. We all live in a Danger zone.

Yes drugs are everywhere Lisle, Naperville, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Westmont, Glendale Heights, Addison, etc. I am making some valid points here we must protect our kids, do you realize How many young adults or kids wish Someone had honestly cared, or even checked out who or what they were doing? Many!!! But I agree the Glendale Heights Police department is very nosey in regards to you making a report but liars regarding those reports! We cannot run I mean where? It is time to take a stand and protect our kids, It sickened me to read about Captain of a police department in New York interacting with our kids regarding child pornography telling them how to protect themselves But this creep was just arrested in February 2014 by the Feds for becoming a lewd pervert keeping this sickness for his own personal use. We cannot trust anyone police, government, etc. We Love our families We come together and protect out families, check on website in Canada saving 499 kids involved in sex trades and heineous child molestation January 2014, some of those people arrested were doctors in the United states Nurses, childcare workers, foster parents, pediatricians....Come on people they could care less about our kids except how to make money off of them whether child pornography or drugs! Glendale Heights needs to get it together I am very disgusted!

This guy lived like across the street from complex of townhomes and apartments where I live now. Actually I have heard before Gladstone street is a dangerous area. And so far, I have not seen as much trash scattered around on sidewalks and streets by Jewel as in other suburbs.

Other times when I walked in bright daylight around my block, I saw a note attached to front door indicating of some dude getting evicted by police.

Also one time, when I went used to go to Anytime Fitness, I had a little bag with trash put on mask of my car. Since I switched to Lifetime Fitness in Bloomingdale I feel now safer about parking and going to gym.

I also think Glendale Heights police may be little inefficient and worse than Bloomingdale's. One time I complained about noise in my block. As soon as they asked about my name, I raised my concern about my privacy, staying anonymous since I did not want to face a potential retaliation if neighbors new who I am. At this point they hung up. I had a similar noise problem before in Chicago when I lived there for a while, and after calling EMS, dispatcher went very smooth proceeding to ask about location and noise, and said she was gonna radio nearby patrol to check it out. Thats it.
Any town can have certain areas in which one could feel are unsafe, or unsuitable for their choice of residence and in complete honesty, I respect your thoughts as it is obvious this town 'Glendale heights' made you feel uncomfortable. But in our society as a whole, each person has an opinion concerning a town or certain area of a town in which we must all respect, But we cannot assume because a certain police department didn't comply in a way that made you feel comfortable, that the entire agency of that town is inefficient, because each town and their policies differ. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience in Glendale heights and hope your new choice of residence is better. Glendale heights as any other town can have good areas or bad areas. But the town as a whole is a diverse town and the term ghetto can be considered offensive to a person whom could reside there.

From reading the posts from Mayhem_223 & Disgusted_53, I simply took it that they had negative experiences regarding living in Glendale Heights. Everyone has a right to express their own experiences of living in a certain town or city. I personally feel that you probably live in that town and are angry about them, expressing their obvious negative experiences besides opinions of what they felt, which should be respected as just that. Some people can live in desirable areas and some cannot, everyone is human and have certain lifestyles they choose to live. But, if you don't reside in the town of Glendale heights I hope you are capable of finding an area where you can blend in and pay $300 for occupancy, maybe locate a room for rent as it is taken that you are on a fixed income. Best wishes because as in any city or town there are areas that are considered better than others and perhaps they resided in a bad area of Glendale heights, because Glendale heights has good areas as well as bad areas

Either way, if your kid is going to some shady apartment complex in Glendale Heights unsupervised, you probably have an issue. Heck, we have crappy apartment complexes in Glen Ellyn too. "Ghetto" is a strong term, though, and I haven't seen anything in any of these towns that approaches a rough gang-infested Chicago neighborhood in terms of the danger levels and crime.
Agreed, this is the most mature and honest comment I have read! It seems obvious that Mayhem_223 & Disgusted_53 resided in more upscale areas somewhere and then, when they resided in a part of Glendale heights that was undesirable to them it placed fear or made them feel uncomfortable. You are right Lookout kid those type of negative networks are everywhere now.

I wouldn't call it a ghetto. It's more just a collection of run-down apartment complexes and strip malls. Of course the crime is worse than let's say Naperville, however it's nothing compared to the south side of the city.
