Are there any Hindu temples in the Chicago area? We just relocated to Riverwoods, and we are unfamiliar with the worship centres. Are there any temples nearby? We are aware of the Lemont temple, but that is very far. Are there any temples nearby within a fifteen minute drive? Thanks!

Not that I am aware of. Besides Lemont, there's one by Roselle/Bloomingdale, and another
by Itasca AFAIK. Double check on Yelp.

Google is your friend. Unfortunately, there are no big temples nearby although there seem to be smaller ones (such as a Hanuman temple).

Among the big ones, besides Lemont, there's also the Balaji temple in Aurora. It is still quite far for you though. They have the best South Indian food in all of Chicago though, and that too by far.

I would like any kind of temple. Both near my home and near my workplace in Deerfield(I work on Waukegan Rd) would be fine. My wife, who works in Glenview is also curious. Thanks again!

There is one in Rogers Park. It is a Hare Krishna Temple. My Skokie relatives attended this one.

There is another on the near north side in the River North Neighborhood.

There's one in Grayslake, but that might be a little too far for you.

There's also a very large temple in Bartlett, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, but that's still quite far from the North Shore area.

You are very far from the Temple BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Bartlett. Consider visiting for main events. Bartlett gets very busy during Diwali. I hear it is worth the drive because of its beauty.
