I have close friends in wheaton. You can drive 10-15 minutes east on Roosevelt road or north Ave from north Wheaton and get on 355. It's very easy. How's that not accessible?

Lol. When people think of a suburb with an easy commute to downtown, I dont think Wheaton is one of the first places that comes to their mind, especially north Wheaton. North Wheaton is about as accessible to major expressway as west Chicago, Winfield, or carol stream.

Who even drives on 355 anyways? Lol. Bunch of tolls.

Nobody said it was easily accessible to downtown, you said it wasn't easily accessible to 355 or 88. That statement is incorrect. Is it easy to travel from there to city, no. Your statement was that Wheaton isn't accessible to 355 or 88. You should reread.

South Wheaton where I live is really easy to get to I 88 Naperville Rd exit. 5 min away. Its also easy to get to 355. Its not as easy getting from North Wheaton its about a 20 min drive to get to I 88 because you have to cut through traffic in downtown Wheaton and also take into account the train and there are lots of long trains you can get caught by.

Yes and unfortunately the attendance map for Longfellow, where HWorth lives, falls completely north of the tracks. So access to I-88 isn't particularly easy from this part of town, especially during typical weekday commuting hours.

I picked a house for sale in this part of town (122 W. Lincoln) and google maps is showing a drive time of 15 minutes to access I-88. Then it's another 1hr 12 min to the loop. This is at 7am Wednesday morning.

I lived over near Wheaton College, and to hear these absolutely absurd claims of "religious extremism" just goes to show that some people posting here are utterly ignorant on the matter. I never ONCE had ONE single issue with ANYONE near the college. In fact, I would recommend the areas right around the college (minus directly south on the tracks) because of the supreme safety and quietness of the area. My neighbors all attended various churches around the area, had kids attending WC, and were the absolute nicest people Ive ever met (even going so far as to shovel my driveway many times as a kind gesture)! Never once did they ever snub us or persuade us in any way.

OP... do yourself a favor and scope out the area around the college. You'll see why its so highly sought after. Or you can go look into non-religious areas and run into the crime, the drugs, the partying, etc.

If you haven't figured it out, this person is the troll of all trolls. Ignore it and move on.

That and nearby Wheaton addresses have similar travel times to I-88 as addresses across the tracks in central Lombard, Villa Park, Naperville, Downers Grove, etc.

And Wheaton's stretch of I-88 is <5 mins from portions of I-88 in Downers, Lombard, etc, even during morning/evening rush.

There's no validity to the suggestion that Wheaton (even north Wheaton) is somehow more removed from highways than comparably positioned addresses in other suburbs, and real world travel times on the highway are only 5-12 mins longer than from other desirable suburbs to the east (comparably positioned addresses in Downers, Hinsdale, Elmhurst, etc). And FWIW, it never takes me more than 10 mins to get to I-88.
