Good morning! My family and I currently live in Bolingbrook and are looking to relocate to the north or northwest suburbs. My territory for work has changed and I’m now covering that area with Schaumburg being the middle point of my territory. Are there any suburbs in that area with reasonable home prices and tax values ($7k or less?) and still in a good school system? Any help is appreciated

What is your approximate housing budget? Hard to do much w/o at least that info.

Sorry about that. 300k max but would prefer 250k. Looking to be in an area with younger families since my children are all young.

It might be harder to narrow down specific neighborhoods with young families, but keep in mind that the SFHs in the better N/NW school districts will be taxed as such, even at around 250-300K. For example, Arlington Heights checks many boxes for me (Parks, schools, transportation, etc.), and would give you a tax bill around $8K ballpark. For example:

That tax # might be a challenge but you might be able to find something in Mount Prospect.

I think somewhere along 355 or 90 is ideal for your commute. I agree with Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights. They are in great locations and have good schools. North of Lake Cook is pretty pricey and taxes are much higher.

I would also add Roselle and Bloomingdale to your search. The homes there in your price range have property taxes in the 6ks and you can definitely find something in your price range.

Price/tax-wise, yes. The schools will lag a little vs what's surrounding it though.
