I will be visiting Chicago soon. My plan was to stay in a hotel in Skokie. I was wondering if there is a metra station with parking lot in Skokie with a line that goes to Howard station in Chicago/Evanston. Thanks!

The Yellow Line (CTA) is in Skokie and will bring you to Evanston. I thought at least one of the Yellow Line stations had parking, but someone who frequents that area can potentially clarify.

Skokie does not have a Metra line.

There are 2 Yellow line stations in Skokie. Metra you would have to go to Evanston or Morton Grove. There is parking at the Dempster Station in northern Skokie not sure about Oakton in downtown Skokie.

Most of the Hotels in Skokie are near old Orchard Shopping center about 2 miles to the Dempster station. There are also several buses like the 97 CTA that go to Howard or Dempster right from Westgate Old Orchard mall. You would not even have to drive from the hotel.

What a coincidence. I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn on Touhy with my kids tomorrow! That is the place I stay when I come down. They revamped rooms last year, great size pool and hot tub, nice breakfast, nice staff. Skokie itself is a beautiful village and it's a great addition to all you can do while visiting Chicago. And yes the Yellow Line El has 2 stops. Parking should not be a problem. Enjoy!- Master Jay in Milwaukee

So helpful, thanks all! I was taking a look at the CTA website and wow, the train lines sure have changed in 30 years. I was used to the A, B, and C trains. Now it's all color lines! But it looks like I can easily get to the places I want to go.

Wow, I was going to stay at the Hampton Inn since that's where we usually go. But Holiday Inn has better rates during my time frame. Master Jay, when you book, do you ever choose the rate that doesn't necessarily guarantee your room type choice, but has the lowest rate?
