For more information on what is offered, may I suggest you check out the Lakewood Falls Community and Association website. There are things that go on that aren't even listed like the fireworks display. The place is kept up. Lakewood Falls drive and Butler Road are not owned by Lakewood Falls. They are owned by the county. If you look at the community based on those roads, Lakewood Falls is not liable or able to repair them. I do know firsthand that they are on the counties list to be fixed.

I suggest looking at some of the Plainfield neighborhoods further southwest. They are around the same price and much nicer/safer. Wesmere for example would be good. Obviously, the further north . You go, the nicer/more expensive it gets

I have lived in LWF for 19 yrs. when we moved in we all hung out and had block parties. Now children are grown and people have changed. But we all talk and keep an eye on each other. Wave hello. There was graffti many years ago. That went away. Crime is everywhere. Nothing serious here. It's not the 1950's lock your doors. I've forgotten to lock them many times and nothing. The house is well built. After 10-15 yrs things need replacing. Nothing lasts forever. Lakes and schools and parks to walk to. Loud music? Kids are kids. Talk to them. Younger kids moving in. Time to pass the torch lol. Great place to raise a family.

Everyone needs to lock their doors. I can recall even back in the 1950's my grandparents locked all the doors when they were away. You never know if there is some nut around let alone robbers.

This is crazy. First of all, Illinois is a multicultural area. I have been renting in Lakewood Falls for over a year now and haven't had any problems whatsoever. If you look at the history of Cabrini Green or the projects it was for low income families trying to make better lives for their children and unfortunately gangs took over making it a volatile place to live. I doubt Lakewood Falls is housing those gangbangers. There are a lot of teens in the area so if there is some debauchery going on, it most likely is the teens and that's just part of being a stupid teenager. Enough said.

You realize this thread is 8 years old yes? Anyway, today, with Illinois' political situation, I don't see why on earth you'd pick Plainfield over NWI if you don't care about housing stock, character, walkability, public transit, and are willing to drive everywhere.

Not to be harsh but c'mon. Those with an overwhelming desire to live in a blue state need to go all in and move to an urban area and show their compassion via their actual wallets. If not go to NWI and cut your taxes in half.
