Hi, we are thinking of relocating to the Chicago area. Can anyone recommend a neighborhood that has great schools, a good little league program, a reform temple, has easy access to downtown and has homes between $400-500. I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Lombard,Buffalo Grove,Evanston fit your requests as well as Wilmette Vernon hills and Highland Park. You have alot of choices of excellent suburbs with great schools, little league, easy downtown commute(metra).Willmette and Highland Park may be over your price range, but worth checking out.If you back track on these threads, you will find much info.Good luck to you

Very nice as well and very popular with a great "downtown".It fits all your criteria but I did not mention that one as I was not sure if they have a reform temple.

Some other suburbs you might want to check out (some with direct Metra access, others w/o):

Bartlett, Wayne, Geneva, St. Charles, Wasco, Elburn, Wheaton, Warrenville, Winfield, South Elgin, Naperville, Hinsdale, Glen Ellyn, Schaumburg, Lombard, Crystal Lake, Algonquin, etc.

I'd be surprised if more than one or two of those towns has a reform temple, or any temple. Diamondmom, most Jews live in the northern suburbs, so you may want to focus your search there. Skokie, Evanston, and Buffalo Grove have large Jewish populations and are in your price range. I don't know about Skokie or Evanston, but Buffalo Grove has a great little league program. Tons of kids participate and the program has a lot of support from local businesses.
